Abstract
This documentary gives voice to victims from Muslim backgrounds, who share how spiritual authority (in their communities) was misused to control, silence, or oppress them. It sheds light on the dynamics of manipulation, fear, and control through religious structures or teachings appear across different faiths. It emphasises how cultural, religious, gender, and community expectations intersect to make spiritual harm difficult to name or escape. Also, it explores what survivors say has helped them — supportive people, alternative interpretations of religious teaching, safe community, some legal protection. Good resource for those wanting to understand diverse contexts, especially outside their own.
