Abstract

God’s Justice: Just Relationships between Women and Men, Girls and Boys" seeks to deepen the understanding of gender equality as a core aspect of Christian faith and practice. By grounding discussions in biblical and theological principles, these materials aim to equip future church leaders with the knowledge and skills to advocate for and implement gender justice in their communities.
The materials emphasise that gender equality reflects God’s justice, as seen in the creation narratives where both men and women are made in God's image (Genesis 1:27).
They explore biblical teachings that promote mutual respect, dignity, and the inherent worth of all individuals, regardless of gender.
The study highlights the importance of interpreting scripture within its historical and cultural context to avoid justifying gender inequality. It encourages revisiting traditional interpretations that have perpetuated patriarchal norms, advocating for readings that affirm gender justice.
The materials call on the Church to be a proactive agent in promoting gender equality, challenging discriminatory practices and attitudes both within the Church and in the wider society.
It outlines practical steps for church leaders and communities to cultivate environments where just relationships between women and men, girls and boys can flourish.
The study materials are structured to facilitate interactive learning, including discussions, reflections, and case studies that engage participants in critical thinking and application of theological concepts to real-world scenarios.
